briss: Eliminating Margins in PDF Files

Occasionally when I travel without large devices, I print off a few articles for reading on the go. I print two pages to a side, double-sided, to save ink and paper. Since scholarly publications traditionally have substantial margins, however, this yields an almost illegibly small font size. Although CUPS allows scaling, this doesn’t seem to work when printing two pages to a side.

Enter briss. This app trims margins directly from PDF files, so your text covers the entire page for comfortable reading. You’ll just have to fit your handwritten notes in between the lines!
